How a baby is formed
How a baby is formed: Have you ever wondered how a baby is formed in the womb? How does it develop in the womb? Where do sperm and eggs come from? How do they find each other? Then how do they create a new life together?
To know all this, we must first know about the reproductive organs of women and men. The reproductive organs in a woman’s body include the uterus (womb), ovaries (ovaries), fallopian tubes, uterus, and vagina. The sperm present in the male is the cell that helps in producing children. These are formed in the testicles ie the testis.
The uterus is located in the lower part of the womb. It has ovaries on both sides and which are attached to the fallopian tubes. There are two small oval organs in the ovary. The ovaries are filled with eggs (ovum), which every girl takes from birth.
Eggs are like the rest of the organs of her body, when the female embryo is forming in the mother’s womb, then along with the development of the rest of the organs of the fetus, eggs also form. During the reproductive years, the process of conception begins with the ovaries. The sperm starts the process of becoming a baby by mixing with the egg.
Eggs are released from the girl’s ovaries every month, which calls ovulation. Similarly, it takes 72 days for a male’s sperm to mature. After this, the mature sperm come out and reach the eggs. It takes about 10 hours for the sperm to travel this distance. The sperm enters the ovum present in the fallopian tube and then it fertilizes. The fertilized egg then travels through the fallopian tubes to the uterus.
After the fertilized egg reaches the uterus, it divides into many cells. The ball-shaped egg is called a blastocyst. Then this ball releases the pregnancy hormone HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). This hormone instructs the ovaries not to release any more new eggs. This process is complete by the third week of pregnancy. When this hormone mixes in the mother’s blood and urine, the pregnancy detect by a blood or urine test.
Females have x-x chromosomes. Males have x-y chromosomes. If Y sperm fertilizes the egg, a baby boy is born. When X sperm fertilizes the egg, a baby girl is born.
