Health hazards of modernization

Health hazards of modernization.

Health hazards of modernization: The multiple increases in population and with the rapid increase in industrialization and deforestation, the waste materials have increased in amount as well as in kinds resulting in over deterioration of the environment leading to ecological Crisis. this undesirable change in physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of our air, soil, and water is going to do great harm to human life or that of other desirable species.

The industrialization has already caused the disappearance of much vegetation and trees which are a major source of oxygen. With the environment being bereft of trees, the place where one used to see beautiful birds are now without them. Birds depend on the environment for their protection.

Indeed humans are responsible for our injudicious play with nature, which include

  1. Our physical surroundings
  2. Living organisms
  3. Meteorological factors

We have not even spared our own, i.e the historical, cultural, political, moral, economic, and aesthetic aspects of human life either. it can also be termed as a significant pollutant.

These uncontrol activities of human beings are marring the healthy environment more and more.

Let us come to classify the pollutants. the pollutants can be divided according to the nature of their disposal.

Biodegradable: These pollutants are removed quickly by biological or microbiological action e.g., Sewage, etc.

Non-biodegradable: These pollutants cannot be degraded by microbes in nature, e.g. plastics, glass, aluminum pieces, pesticides, DDT, radioactive substances, heavy metals like mercury, lead, etc. the poisonous substances enter the food chain and biologically amplifier in the organization of living being.

Various health hazards of modernization

There are various health hazards of modernization these have been elaborated below:-

  1. Air pollution: Industrialisation in the world has polluted the air, which is creating health problems, Air pollution not only damages plants, trees, and crops but also human beings. the polluted air is linked to sore throat, stinging eyes, respiratory diseases like Bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, and other health problems that plague the persons particularly the children and old people. there are a number of pollutants in the air such as poisonous gases from factories, exhaust fumes from automobiles, smoke, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, Sulphur Dioxide, lead compounds, dust, and other harmful particles.
  2. Water pollution: No doubt water is indispensable for human life, not even a single organism can survive without water. as a matter of fact, three fourth of the earth is occupied by water. so, one may feel that the supply of water is inexhaustible. it is a fact but the problem of pure, clean, and safe water is causing great concern to man. since the population is increasing there are is a rise in population-level, which has spoiled the water. Water is becoming less suitable for drinking with the increase of various pollutants politics water creates many diseases like typhoid, hepatitis, jaundice, and dysentery. water pollution has become a common phenomenon in big cities as well as in slums. there are various reasons for water pollution. domestic and sewage waste is one of them.
  3. Soil pollution: In fact, human beings have disturbed the environment of soil through their domestic, agricultural, and industrial activities. which have polluted the soil directly or indirectly. a soil pollutant is that which reduces the fertility of the soil. Chemicals like zinc, cadmium, nickel, arsenic, etc. which are released in the soil from smelting and mining complexes are unsafe for human consumption. No doubt we have enhanced food production but at what cost? in fact, we are using more and more fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides, and weedicides to increase food production. we are using this chemical injudiciously, as a matter of fact, these chemicals are destroying the useful germs present in the soil, therefore, we are polluting the soil at a larger scale in the lust of more production.
  4. Food pollution: If we have a glance at the history of human beings we may come to know that a great number of human beings have always been worried about foodstuff. the present state is also approximately the same as it was earlier. 60 years ago, the population of the world was half of the current population. if the trend remains the same the population of the world in the next 60 years will be twice. what will happen at that time definitely you will have to produce the double amount of foodstuff. this increase in production is possible if we add up some extraordinary and miraculous effort as well as techniques. but we should also be aware of its consequence we may increase the food production. but at what cost? as a matter of fact, we increase food production by using fertilizer, insecticides, pesticides, weedicides, and other chemicals in an injudicious way. by using this chemical we also destroyed the useful organism present in the soil this process reduces the fertility of the soil, in the long run, we kill the insect present in the Cop by using insect inside generally these insects that have an effect on the Food Village hands it can be a lot did that food grains are being polluted at the beginning also.
  5. Noise pollution: The unwanted sound in the atmosphere is called noise pollution. noise pollution causes physical discomfort and Temporary or permanent hearing loss mostly in big cities. the noise of traffic, the noise of Machines, airplanes, trains are common mental stress and tension. this also causes heart diseases. it creates mental problems and physical deformities in the children who are still in the mother’s womb. it disturbs the rest and sleep of individuals it also causes headache stability and blood pressure. it also causes the equation of a line in the blood and repeated at the length of production causes nervousness and the feeling of the noise pollution are posting a serious health hazard to many people who live in big cities.
